How can I become a Town Councillor ?

Town Councillors are elected every 4 years with the next elections planned for May 2023. Elections are held within the 4 year period if a Councillor leaves for whatever reason and a casual vacancy then exists.

There is a multi-stage process to filling a vacancy which often ( but not always) requires the cantidate to win an election. You do not have to be associated to a political group to stand for election but you do need to either be a Wilmslow resident or have your main place of work in the Town.

Cheshire East Council is the election authority for all elections in Cheshire East and therefore are responsible for administering Town and Parish Council elections in their area.
