COMMUNICATIONS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OFFICER
Wilmslow Town Council is the most local form of government in the town and is funded entirely by Wilmslow residents.
As Communications and Community Engagement Officer you will work to positively enhance the Town Council’s profile, you will initiate communication output from the Town Council and will work to maximise the reach and impact of our communications in the locality. The successful candidate will develop our online presence via website and social media channels and capitalise on traditional media opportunities by developing relationships and by issuing press releases and a digital/hard copy Newsletter.
You will become our first point of contact with Wilmslow Community Groups to encourage cooperative working between groups, improve Community Group/ Town Council interaction and promote local grant schemes including that of the Town Council. People management skills, the ability to build trusted relationships with community groups and the focus and passion to deliver excellence on behalf of the Town Council will be essential for the successful candidate.
TERM OF CONTRACT
The role is for a fixed term contract period of 6 months. The role will be reassessed at the end of that period.
This is a part-time role for 10 hours per week.
We will agree a working pattern with you and the hours could be spread over two, three, four or five days per week. There is likely to be a mixture of home and office working.
There is a requirement to be able to work evenings as necessary as this is when some Community Groups meet and also weekend working may be required when the Town Council delivers events. You will take this time back through flexible working.
The role will be paid at a rate in line with £25,000 pa (Equivalent Full-Time rate, 37.5hrs), equating to £12.80 per hour.
You will receive leave equivalent to 5 weeks pa (25hrs over the 6 month contract) plus all bank and public holidays, calculated at 1/5th of the working week
