
Wilmslow Town Council Grants
There are 2 types of grant available from Wilmslow Town Council:
- The Community Grant – a general grant to encourage, promote and facilitate positive work in and around Wilmslow.
- The Green Community Fund – for projects that promote sustainable spaces, biodiversity conservation and ‘Greening’ the Town.

The Community Grant
The Community Grant is a general grant to encourage, promote and facilitate positive work in and around Wilmslow.
Applications must be from local groups, societies, clubs, organisations and charities (not individuals).
In most instances, the maximum grant awarded will be £2,000, to cover no more than 50% of the overall project costs.

Grant applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis by the Wilmslow Town Council Finance Committee who then make a recommendation to the Town Council.
Completed Grant Application forms, with appropriate attachments, should be received by the Town Council office at least 1 week before the relevant Town Council Meeting.

Wilmslow Town Council Green Community Fund
The Wilmslow Town Council Green Community Fund is for projects that promote sustainable spaces, biodiversity conservation and ‘Greening’ the Town.
The fund of £10,000 will promote and finance community projects that deliver on biodiversity priorities of the Wilmslow Neighbourhood Plan and would therefore relate to:
- ‘Greening the Town’, including protecting, enhancing and expanding upon existing green features,
- Sustainable spaces, such as planned un-managed grasslands, nectar-rich species for insects and butterflies and open-water features,
- Biodiversity Conservation, including preserving wildlife and biodiversity, encouraging biodiversity and creating wildlife habitats.
The Wilmslow Neighbourhood Plan was adopted when it passed its referendum of Wilmslow residents in October 2019. Areas that the Green Fund incorporates are Aspiration A8: Greening the Town, Policy LSP2: Sustainable Spaces and Policy NE5: Biodiversity and Conservation.
