Town Clerk

Matthew Jackson is the Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer for the Town Council.

Matthew is the first point of contact for all Town Council business and can be contacted by email on townclerk@wilmslowtowncouncil.gov.uk or by telephone on 01625 402907.

Matthew works full time and ensures that the instructions of the Council, in connection with its function as a Local Authority, are carried out.

He advises the Council on, and assists in the formation of, overall policies to be followed in respect of the Council’s activities and in particular to produce all the information required for making effective decisions and to implement constructively all decisions.

Matthew oversees the Council’s resources, administration and communications, and reports to the Council as and when required.

He is also the Responsible Financial Officer, responsible for all financial records of the Council and the careful administration of its finances.

Assistant Town Clerk

Helen Richards is the Assistant Town Clerk for the Council, deputising for and assisting the Town Clerk as necessary with the above tasks.

Communications Officer

Sophie Taylor is Wilmslow Town Council’s Communications Officer.

Sophie co-ordinates our external communications, sharing Wilmslow Town Council news, events and activities on our website, social media channels and with local press. Sophie produces our quarterly newsletters and more frequent Mailchimp eNewsletters.

Working 18 hours per week, Sophie can be contacted by email on comms@wilmslowtowncouncil.gov.uk.

Local Governance Transparency

The Local Government Transparency Code requires local authorities to publish details (including job descriptions, responsibilities and staff numbers) of any senior employees earning over £50,000 per annum.  Wilmslow Town Council has one employee earning over this amount.
