Highway Faults

Wilmslow roads are maintained by Cheshire East Council.

The reporting of faults by members of the public is a very helpful and effective way of speeding up the process of repair, eliminating the delays associated with periodic highway inspection.

The highway repair teams do need to prioritise jobs that pose immediate safety concerns and will normally tackle numerous jobs in a single town, to increase productivity, rather than visit a town such as Wilmslow every day or every week.

The best way to identify a highway fault is to do so using their reporting page Click here.

Having reported the fault you will be issued, via email, a report number which ensures that the report is in the system and guarantees that Cheshire East Council will investigate the fault.

The following faults can be reported in this way

  • Road surface issues
  • Pavement issues
  • Problems with bridges
  • Grids/ Road drain issues
  • Manhole issues
  • Problems associated with grass verges
  • Pedestrian crossing issues
  • Street lighting failures
  • Traffic signal faults (temporary and permanent)
  • Road traffic signs
  • Growth of hedges / trees impacting on road signs, pavements and roads.
  • Issues with bus shelters and bus stops
  • Street Cleaning issues
  • Fly-tipping
