Wilmslow Town Council funds the town centre Christmas lights, and both funds and organises the Christmas Lights Switch-on event.
The switch-on event usually takes place on the third Saturday in November and features a live Reindeer Parade ahead of the staged switch-on near Bank Square. This well-attended community event features performances from local groups, acts and choirs, with a local celebrity helping Santa to switch on the Christmas lights.
