The Town Council are funding the creation and development of a Town Centre brand and marketing campaign and an events programme, organised by a Town Centre Management Group.
Earlier this year, Wilmslow Town Council appointed Groundwork to work with representatives from town centre businesses as part of a Town Centre Management Group, with the aim of creating a town centre that is vibrant, serves residents’ changing needs and fights back from the devastating impact of the pandemic. They have been busy working on a positive new Town Centre brand called ‘Wilmslow’s Way Better’ – including website and social media pages (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) - which are now live.
Wilmslow’s Way Better will feature regular posts and updates on everything across the town centre: from food and drink, shopping and exploring green open spaces, to wellbeing & business updates.
The first Wilmslow’s Way Better event - funded by the Town Council - was a Food, Film, Fashion Festival which ran throughout November/December (more information can be found here). Wilmslow's Way Better then organised a Technology-themed family fun day in February half term (main image shows Lisa Russett from Wilmslow's Way Better with Transformers at the event - for more information, please see the Wilmslows Way Better website).
Wilmslow Town Council Chaiman, Martin Watkins said, “The Town Centre Management team has a great vision for events and promotions that will drive footfall to Wilmslow Town Centre. giving town centre businesses a fantastic opportunity to showcase their products and highlight to residents the variety and quality of establishments available locally”.
Groundwork’s Lisa Russett is looking for more Town centre businesses to be involved in the upcoming festival and future events & initiatives. Please email her at email@example.com for more information.
