WTC sponsors girls’ football tournament
Wilmslow Town Council has sponsored a Girls’ Primary Interschool World Cup Tournament with a Community Grant of £1,125.
The tournament will run from Tuesday 27th June to Friday 30th June at Wilmslow Phoenix Sports Club. All primary schools in Wilmslow, Handforth, Alderley Edge, Styal and Mobberley will enter a team each day in age-appropriate categories.

The funding from Wilmslow Town Council will be used towards venue hire, staffing and referee costs, equipment, trophies and medals for the tournament.
Wilmslow Town Council Chair, Jon Newell, said “It is an honour to support an initiative that encourages and inspires more girls to get involved in football as well as promoting physical activity in general and bringing the local primary school community together. We thank the organisers for driving the initiative and hope that the tournament it is a big success.”
